Are the good old days of timeshare travel offers over?

Back in the good old days (aka last year and many years previous), I could always count on getting at least a couple of attractive timeshare travel offers in the mail.

These offers featured 5 nights at either a Hyatt or an SPG property for a VERY low cost (like, $300), in addition to bonus points. I never actually took advantage of any of these offers, but now I’m wishing that I had, because those heady days seem to be over. The only offers I’ve received recently have featured 5 nights for more than double the cost ($798) or almost five times the cost ($1500). Sheesh.

It’s like that old saying goes, “you don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone.”

Or maybe it’s just me?
