I’m not gone…I just have 2 kids.

It’s the end of the school year, and it’s kind of a big one for us. My daughter is moving on to middle school next year, which means a lot of things…but right now, what it means is complete calendar insanity. As in, eight school events in one week insanity. Picnics and commemorative videos and potlucks and meetings and recitals and parties. Daytime, nighttime, mornings, afternoons…it’s nonstop.

All you parents out there know what I’m talking about.

I actually had a fit of hysterical laughter a few days ago because I read a fellow Boarding Area blogger’s post about his daily routine. He gets home from work at 5 pm, then his wife makes him dinner and he works on his blog for six hours. With absolutely no disrespect to this lovely man, OMG.

I need a wife.

I’m seriously lucky if I can snatch a total of two hours a day to write a post – fifteen minutes here, half an hour there – normally I’m still typing away at midnight and then I have to do laundry afterward.  So if I sound a little jealous, that’s because I am. πŸ˜‰

So, I’m sorry if I’ve been a little MIA. I’ll be back for real in a couple of days. In the meantime, hope all of you are having a wonderful start to your summer – yay, it’s June!

    1. DavidAL – I was actually jealous of the part where someone else makes dinner and does the laundry. πŸ˜‰

  1. Right there with you! 2 kids too. I used to be able snag a moment or two to blog when my 8 month old was playing quietly on the floor, but now he’s just started crawling. I instead spend my time chasing after him and frantically childproofing as I go.

In any event, will keep reading when your life gets a little less hectic!

    1. Leslie H – I do miss the days when I could just pick my kids up and move them around. I actually had a very sad moment the other day when I realized that my 8-year-old was too heavy for me to lift anymore. πŸ™

  2. Where do the people with kids go. One minute they are there and then gone for 20 years. We miss them.

  3. Oh man…now I dont feel so bad…I’m glad someone else is in the same boat. I have twin girls ..10 mths …hardly have any time to update my blog. πŸ™‚

  4. I have 3 girls. and that makes it always not easy! But this year has been extremely challenging because my oldest is in 9th grade! Never thought high school would be so hard (not just academically) it made Jr High and elementary school a piece of cake! Aside from that, we had the most difficult teacher ever for middle daughter, I felt like I was back in school repeating 5th grade! So I am just glad that school year is finally over! But then again, I am not looking forward to the crazy water polo training schedule my oldest have during this summer. 6am Monday thru Thursday starting next week thru end of July. Oh well…. This is why I look forward to my big trips!

  5. Ugh… It’s crazy how busy things get! We have two toddlers and have started potty training the oldest.

I started our blog a few weeks before potty training and I just haven’t found time to get back into it.

  6. I understand how you feel. Perhaps have the FirstClassQueen write a guest post or two while you’re busy with the kids? πŸ˜‰

  7. assistants for everyone! πŸ™‚
