The Suitest is not messing around – have you tried it yet?

The Suitest is blowing my mind a little bit right now.

Described as a “swanky hotel intelligence engine,” it’s a combination of many good things: premium hotels, big cash savings potential, smart searching, and clean design. In other words, it’s a fun and almost relaxing way to find a luxury bargain.

The site compares the size of a hotel room, number of amenities, and extra fees you’ll need to pay and then ranks rooms based on value. You can sort rooms by suite score (how fab the room is), deal grade (current price compared to regular rates), amenities, and price.

I gave it a try for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas. When I provided my dates, here is a sample of what came back:

These prices are great!

I love the easy comparison between the current price, the “fair value” and the “usual price,” but even better is the hotel room price predictor, which gives a little insight into the probable fluctuation of room rates (will they climb? decline? sell out?).

While this isn’t a new invention, the way that it was created is an innovation. According to the site’s founders, the Suitest has gathered “hundreds of millions of price points and fees and amenities,” and they use that rich information to create an algorithm similar to those used with Wall Street hedge funds. The result is the fair market value of any given hotel room on a given night. You can then compare their “reveal” of the fair value to the current quoted price of the room, and decide whether you are getting a deal.

You can also view a six-month calendar showing the average rate each night in the city of your choice.

The site shows mostly boutique and luxury or high-end hotels, so if you are in the market for a truly cheapie stay, this might not be the best tool for you. However, if you are going for fab on a budget, this is definitely worth a look.

What do you think about the Suitest? Will it help you for any of your upcoming hotel stays?

  1. I’ve always floundered about trying to figure out which of the nicer hotels had good deals. It was so much trouble to wade through them all. This sounds like a really helpful program. I’m definitely adding it to my repertoire.

In fact, will be taking four year old granddaughter on a mini-vacation in a couple of months, so I think I’ll try it out soon.

    1. Anne – A mini-vacation with your granddaughter sounds like a perfect time to splurge a little on a luxury bargain 🙂
