Wednesday giveaway.

a white scarf on a white background

It’s so chilly in San Francisco today! Almost worse than in July 😉

Is it cold where you are? Time to get warm! This infinity scarf from Cuyana is made from Peruvian alpaca fleece, which is warmer than wool and lighter than cashmere.

The scarf retails for $65. I got it in one of my recent Popsugar Must Have boxes (and then never wore it! It’s still in the box!). While I think it’s awesome, I need to get real about my closet.

If you don’t already know about Popsugar, it is a subscription box – a handpicked mix of beauty, fashion, lifestyle and food products sent to your doorstep every month. I love it! Cost is $40/month, but the total value of items inside is always worth more.

  1. I just learned that on the first afternoon of a cruise, not only is the buffet open, but the main dining room (and perhaps other restaurants on the ship) is often open and you can enjoy your lunch without the hustle, bustle, and craziness up at the buffet!

I enjoy your blog and continued good luck Kendra!

  2. Something I learned recently. Well, I learned how to redirect a webpage. Ya that might be simple for some of you but I had yet to figure it out.

I also learned that you can tell what side of the car the gas tank is on by the gas light! Actually quite helpful to know. Surprised it took me this long. Thank you for that!

I learned that in a pool, if there is not a rock on the steps or if it is covered, the frogs don’t know how to get out of the water and swim around for quite awhile, until they, well you know. (expire)

I learned that double rainbows are symbolic of transformation, and that the outer rainbow colors are typically opposite of the inside brighter rainbow.

Lastly, i learned that currently the wasps are swarming. meaning they’re looking for somewhere to nest. The other week i found TEN wasps on my glass door INSIDE. not good.

  3. I’ve recently learned that you need to keep an eye on your 9 month old at all times. Even turning away for just a second can lead to trouble, as they can get into spaces you never thought possible!

  4. Really appreciate all your blogs on car rentals! Not much info out there on this topic…

Ps. Love the scarf and would love to win it…. Got my high school aged granddaughter a subscription to popsugar and she loves it!l

  5. I just found out that Godiva gives out free chocolate every month! All you have to do is buy $10 worth of their products once a year and you can get a free piece of chocolate at their retail store, once a month. All you have to do is give them your email address. Enjoy!

  6. I learned to cut an onion with the cutting board on the stove and with the overhead vent on to prevent eyes from tearing.

  7. I learned that you can make a vacation out of just exploring the city you live in. My husband and I moved to a new city recently and were going to treat ourselves to a long weekend getaway to re-charge our batteries. I got worn out just looking on line trying to decide where to go. Then I had the brilliant idea of visiting the chamber of commerce site for our new home and so we played “tourist” there. Way less expensive, we discovered our new hometown and we found some places to take family/friends when they come to visit.

  8. I learned about babyfoot, and am now fascinated!! LOL. I am also anxious to use what I learned about autoslash!!
your blog is so kind and informative!!

  9. I learned about great date options from you. Thank you so much for the How About We recommendation! I signed up usig your link and got the PBJdate. Doing it this weekend girl! So excited! We have been together for 7 years so it’s hard to find new ideas or to find time to go on a date. Before this tip we would just go to dinner and see a movie. My hubs loves pbj sandwiches and turned me to this good ol American Classic. I had my first pbj 6 years ago. I can’t wait to eat a gourmet version.

  10. I learned to use ITA Matrix software to find possible combinations of cheaper flights. As part of the same experiment, I learned not to trust good to be true fares that appear only on one of the ITAs – they could be phantom!

  11. Suck in the abs and pull shoulders back to stand/sit up straight so as to stop sloughing and this also help with lower back pain.
Just because you run doesn’t mean you shouldn’t train your legs, strength train the legs to prevent injuries.

  12. Sometimes when you stay at Starwood Vacation Ownership Resorts and do not listen to their home ownership sales presentation, you may receive on the last night of your stay a promotion to come back within a year for a heavily discounted rate. The only catch is that to receive the great price, you need to return with your family and listen to the 1.5 hour sales pitch. We just experienced this at the Westin Lagunamar in Cancun and are seriously considering going back to receive the discounted rate for four nights and then use some of our SPG points for the remaining days of our vacation.

  13. recently learnt that you can use paper clips to pry open your iphone sim card slot! (i know, such a noob :/)

  14. I just learned Hyatt Residence Club properties have a different redemption chart than the rest of their properties

  15. When looking for award space on United, be sure to be signed in if you have an Explorer card, since it will reduced the number of miles you need for booking some awards. When we needed a one way ticket at the last minute for my son, who didn’t think he could come home but suddenly could, it appeared to cost 50,000 miles. But when I logged in with my FF #, the site knew I held an Explorer card, which dropped the price to a (still high) 25,000. But it was right before the holidays, seats were both scarce and expensive, and we were happy to get him home.

I would love to win that scarf! Thanks for doing the contest!

  16. I learned the easiest way to retire when you want is to start investing in your early 20’s….otherwise, you will be a slave to your job the rest of your life…

  17. Dryer sheets are great for picking up dust and microwaving water + vinegar makes your microwave super easy to clean!

  18. My tip is find a spouse like mine so you can fly for almost free 😉 ! Then follow her request to read a new blog in hopes you’ll win her a shawl. Worst case scenario? I know what to get her for our 38th anniversary next month!

  19. I learned…so much from your blog! Really enjoy your topics and especially your honesty about EVERYTHING! Would love to win that scarf…don’t own one (live in Hawaii) and could sure use it on my first trip to NYC next month! Aloha!

  20. Just recently learned that you can keep guacamole from browning by pouring a thin layer of water over it before putting it back in the fridge!

  21. If you don’t have your fancy AA Citi card with you, but you want to get into an AA Admiral’s club to get away from the airport riff-raff and enjoy a cup o’ joe, they will just look up your name for you. Please toss my name in the basket for the scarf, thanks!

  22. I recently learned that when you order your passport or renewal you can ask for one that has extra pages. The standard one has 28 pages, but you can request one that has 52 pages.
