2 secret view spots in Paris.

We were in Paris last week. (I know: Paris! We were pinching ourselves).

During our time there, we walked miles and miles and saw so many gorgeous things: views, buildings, streets, monuments…

These were two unexpected spots that I just had to share. They weren’t crowded at all, the views were a surprise and a treat, and they were really fun for all of us.

The first was the Promenade Plantee.

The Promenade Plantee is a 4.7 km (2.9 mi) elevated built on top of obsolete railway infrastructure in the12th arrondissement. It’s been there since 1993 – it was the inspiration for the High Line park in New York City.

It’s very neighborhoody-feeling, with lots of joggers and walkers. There are beautiful views of the neighborhoods on either side. You can just amble along, without feeling rushed, soaking up the atmosphere.

The next spot was the rooftop cafe of Printemps, the iconic department store on Boulevard Haussmann.

We popped up here for a snack and a rest, but ended up staying for awhile because it was just perfect.

Here’s what we were looking at…

  1. Printemps rooftop is a good “insider” tip. So is “Promenade Plantee,” but where did you find a Parisian wearing the flat-billed smiley-face trucker cap?

OMG, that’s you! You fashionista, you! Now we’ll be seeing those everywhere.

  2. Few great spots to share for you :
Рthe M64 restaurant at the Intercontinental Paris Marceau, only 2 minutes from the Champs Elys̩es, a really courtyard and revisited food classics
Рthe Prince de Galles, again a nice courtyard and delicious food next to the Champs Elys̩es
    – a bit away from Paris, 30 minutes driving distance, the Tiara Mont Royal, a nice castle to spend a week end in a castle in the middle of the forest

Being Parisian makes it easier to share good spots 🙂
