A few days ago, I wrote a post detailing the five reasons why I love Twitter. Today, after winning 10,000 Club Carlson points as a result of a few tweets, it looks like I need to add another reason to my list!

How did this happen?

Well, a couple of weeks ago, Club Carlson announced that they were going to throw a 24-hour “Twitter Party” starting on May 13 at noon EST. To participate in the party, all you had to do was follow @ClubCarlson on Twitter, then send out a few tweets while the party was in full swing. During the party, they were going to give out Gold Points, Elite Status and other travel essentials including luggage, noise-canceling headphones and cameras. They were also offering the chance to chat live with travel experts to get tips, tricks and insight on how to get the most out of your travels.

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect, since I’ve never been to a Twitter party before πŸ™‚

I was super busy yesterday, so I just tweeted a few times (okay, three times) when I thought of it (basically in between dropping my kids off at school, going to work, helping my kids with homework, making dinner, etc…the usual).

It was actually really fun seeing people’s excited tweets as they won prizes. I wished I could have participated more, but with two kids and a job, my free time is usually pretty non-existent. πŸ˜‰ So, imagine my surprise when I got the tweet telling me that I had won 10,000 Gold points!! Awesome!

I loved this promotion. The energy and buzz around it was palpable, all of the components made sense together, and I think it was a fun representation of the Club Carlson brand. Here’s hoping for more Twitter parties in the future!

Did you participate in this #HashTagHotel promo? Did you have fun? Did you win anything?

  1. Was interesting to see how many bloggers ended up winning 10k points. I wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention, were they giving out a lot of 10k point prizes or did a lot of them just end up with bloggers? #conspiracy Haha.

    1. William Charles – They gave out a lot of prizes…10 every hour. So a total of 240. So far I’ve heard of 3 bloggers who won. Conspiracy? πŸ˜‰
