10-second tip: 7,500 United or American bonus miles for dining.
If you are a member of the Mileage Plus or AAdvantage Dining programs, check your email in-box for this offer. By completing a total of ten dines within the next month, you can earn a bonus of 7,500 miles. Here’s how:
- Register for the “Great Ten for 7,500” promo (check the “bonuses” tab to see if this offer appears in your account).
- Before December 20, 2014, dine ten times at participating restaurants.
- Spend $40 or more at each location (including tax and tip).
- Complete each of your post-dine reviews within 30 days.
- Earn your 7,500 bonus miles!
I like that this offer dovetails nicely with Small Business Saturday. If you were planning on purchasing gift certificates from a particular restaurant, check to see if that restaurant is part of both the dining program AND Small Business Saturday. If it is, just make sure to purchase a gift certificate for at least $40. That way, you can stack your $10 rebate (from Small Business Saturday) with the miles you’ll get from the dine.
Angelina wrote a great post on this a few weeks ago, so for more details head to her site.
Happy dining π
my offer was 10k pts!
krazymunky – Lucky! π
Buying gift certificates is definitely the way to go with this promotion (they make great gifts!). Otherwise, ten dines in one month at the generally mediocre restaurants that participate in these programs doesn’t sound too enticing.
Gene – Yes, especially here in the Bay Area.
Remember, they make great gifts, especially here in the Bay Area. π
Awww I didn’t get that email but I did get those offers last month for Alaska & US Airways Dividend dining.
The restaurants that tend to use them here in NYC are Irish pubs and what not so I usually don’t mind going with coworkers or friends after work where dinner + drinks normally cost roughly $40.
Did you see the restaurants they list? Can’t seem to find anything I’d like to go to.
bummer, I don’t see that I got the email. Oh well. I don’t dine much anyway, limited restaurants in my area that participate.
