10-second tip: how to get to and from the airport…anywhere.
This awesome tip comes from reader Claire, who responded to my procrastination panic yesterday with this lovely comment:
Sure enough, I am already thanking her from the future.
The site ToAndFromTheAirport is an amazing resource that lists most (if not all) of your options for – you guessed it – getting to and from the airport once you get to a city.
Since I recently had a weird Chicago transportation experience, I decided to see what the site had to say about the way I got from the O’Hare terminal to the catacombs (I told you it was weird).
It was right on target!
Next, I looked at the options for Narita, since that is where we will be next week. Again, packed with information. I love how at the end of all this, they actually write, “To say that the train situation at Narita airport is confusing is an understatement!” Sigh. Not looking forward to that. I hope they don’t have catacombs in Narita, or we will likely end up there.
The super comprehensive site also lists helpful airport facts at the bottom of every page:
I am so excited about this site! It’s going to save me so much time. Thanks again, Claire. Fabulous!
Have you tried toandfromtheairport.com? Thoughts?
Great directions for O’Hare but do note that the fees are outdated. The fare on the L originating at O’Hare is now $5, still a good deal, though, and very easy.
Donna – Good to know, thanks for the update.
While I copied the link in your post and would use it if “all else fails” I think a much better edited version is found on Trip Advisor……
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g298184-c127110/Tokyo:Japan:From.Narita.Airport.To.Your.Tokyo.Hotel.html
With that link it looks pretty clear that the limo bus door to door service is probably the least stressful with kids and looks like it actually is cheaper……….and limo buses are greatly under rated…..just sit back and chill out from the long trip………..
justSaying – Thank you for the link! ๐
The concept is great, but execution not so much, unfortunately (and I do want to like it). I find it hard to follow on my regular computer screen, I don’t even want to try it using a iPad or iPhone.
grrljock – Agree that it’s really jam-packed and hard to read – but I do like that it is all in one place and very comprehensive.
Useful information to give yourself a bit of background info to compare with other methods you find online. As for your upcoming trip to Japan, definitely get yourself a JR Pass to get around. It’s worth it! You can go straight to the JR office on the transport level of Narita airport and they book you in on the express no problems. It’s very quick and easy plus you can get all your subway maps. ๐
Louise – Thank you!
Helpful info, very thorough for Kauai!
