Attention, reluctant shoppers!
Indian summer lasted until November this year. I was literally basking in the sun this past weekend, watching my kids play in their soccer tournaments (and thanking God that soccer was OVER after this), when it dawned on me that Thanksgiving (and Hanukkah!) are happening next week.
Next. Week.
I’m not exactly sure how we got to this point in the calendar year already, but there’s clearly no going back. More holidays are rushing towards us at breakneck speed. This makes me feel slightly panicky, for various reasons. One of these reasons is that both Josh and I have been traveling a ton lately, and we haven’t had time to sit down and figure out our shopping strategy.
In case you also feel slightly ambushed by the date, I thought I would share a handful of sites that can at least help with the potentially stressful (and usually at least a little rushed) job of holiday shopping.
I love all three of these shops because the selection is well-curated AND the deals are great. I can also personally vouch for the fantastic customer service at each, which is an important factor during this time of year. These are the sites that I head to when I want to find the perfect, unique gift, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time or money shopping for said gift.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on these sites over the next couple of weeks, as they all tend to have spectacular sales and discounts over the holidays.
Fab.
The merch at Fab is fun, quirky, unique, and fresh. You can use my link for $25 off your first order of $75 or more.
A couple of sample items:
Canvas leather tote. $45 retail. For sale at Fab for $25. Paired with a batch of magazines and a floppy hat, this would be perfect for my friend who is headed to Jamaica in a couple of weeks.
Iphone alarm dock. $38 retail; $31.50 at Fab. I’m snapping this up for my teenaged nephew.
Gilt
Gilt is definitely one of my all-time favorite sites. I would describe it as deeply-discounted luxury.
Check out these amazing finds:
Reese boot by Wythe NY. Normally $295, reduced to $50 on Gilt. FIFTY DOLLARS.
Deborah Lippman set of 5 polishes. Normally priced at $93. $19 on Gilt. These will be great as girlfriend gifts or stocking stuffers.
One King’s Lane
I always find exceptional “home” treasures at One King’s Lane.
Here are some pieces I found today:
Beatriz Ball Soho organic platter. This is a nice size, 15.5″ x 6.5″. The price is nice as well: $39 (retails for $64). Hostess gift, anyone?
One King’s Lane is also a great place to stock up on basics like this Loop bath towel, which is $15. (Retails for $70).
Good luck, and a question…
I hope that your holiday shopping goes smoothly! I wish you great bargains and no crowds.
Also, I’m wondering if anyone has other favorite shopping sites to share?
Disclosure: I do receive a small commission if you sign up for one of the sites above using my links. I really appreciate and thank you for your support!
Thanks for the suggestions! I am liking that tote at Fab! I admit I’m not that creative with my online shopping. I tend to stick to the same old sites – Amazon, Drugstore.com, Ebay and a few occasional specialty stores. blah.
For holiday gifts, I don’t do a lot, but I try to get local products, bought in advance when able (I like to stock up in the summer). This year, one of the gifts I’m giving is a “relax & read” set of items including a very cool ceramic coffee mug w/lid from our local coffee shop, along w/a bag of Hawaii coffee beans (probably Kona or Maui peaberry), and a copy of a book (my 15 mins of fame – most of my family has not read the book I’m in!)
