He Was Really In First Class
I haven’t been posting every day lately, mostly because it is the end of the school year and I am feeling pretty wrung out. Parents, you know what I am talking about. Non-parents, you can get a good idea from this awesome piece by blogger Jen Hatmaker that went viral a few days ago. Here is an excerpt:
We are limping, limping across the finish line, folks. I tapped out somewhere in April and at this point, it is a miracle my kids are still even going to school. I haven’t checked homework folders in three weeks, because, well, I just can’t. Cannot. Can. Not. I can’t look at the homework in the folder. Is there homework in the folder? I don’t even know. Are other moms still looking in the homework folder? I don’t even care.
Amen, sister.
I do have a piece on Frugal Travel Guy today, so if you would like to read a travel story about when I was a new mom traveling with Bird, here it is.
And I am trying to gather my energy to write a real post in the near future. I promise.
Thank you for the reminder that some people are awesome. I’m motivated to be one of them.
I don’t have any kids but I understand…I feel that way about work.
Great travel story on the Frugal Travel Guy!
pinkisnice – me too!
ElleX – thank you!!
hang in there Pixie, summer is almost here and then your fabulous family travels! Love the post on the guy in first class, appreciate a parents perspective (I don’t have kids). As you and your kids race to the finish line of this year of school, I think back on my own childhood and that incredible feeling of summer vacation starting. Such a memorable magical feeling!
