“I’d Rather Be Camping…At The Hyatt”
I’ve got a new post up on Frugal Travel Guy today. The main point of it is that while some people think that camping with kids is always easy and fun, I beg to differ. My personal experience is that it can really go either way.
My post is a true story about a time when we took our kids camping, years ago. Just for fun, see if you can name 3 things that happened on our trip. (If you answered “bee sting,” “bedwetting,” or “getting lost,” you are starting to get the gist of it).
By contrast, I took my kids on a quick overnight camping trip last week…all by myself! Josh was traveling for business, so it was just the three of us (Bird, Bear, and me). We had a fantastic time. We went on a hike, played cards by lanternlight, and roasted tons of s’mores.
We even had s’mores for breakfast! (Don’t tell Josh. He never reads my blog, so I think I’m safe).
Although I do love a luxury hotel, camping definitely has its place in my world. As I always say, it’s all about the high/low mix for me. The blend of experiences. That is what keeps life interesting.
Anyone with me here?
With you! Thanks for the inspiration. It might be time for a spur of the moment trip!
