Swimming in an abandoned metro station in Paris.
Why, Paris, why?
I’m feeling a little (selfishly) sad that Paris mayoral candidate Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet didn’t win the recent election. Not that I keep up with Parisian politics, but I recently read that Nathalie wanted to reclaim eight abandoned metro stops in Paris, repurposing them as beautiful public spaces. One idea was a swimming pool.
A third idea was a theater.
And look at this spectacular restaurant.
Gorgeous, all. I would totally go.
There are eight metro stations in Paris that were being considered for this lovely fate: Champ de Mars, Arsenal, Porte Molitor, Haxo, Croix Rouge, Porte des Lilas, Saint Martin et Martin Nadaudso.
Wouldn’t you just love to swim in the metro?
I like the pool idea! Would be cool if they all connected
Rebecca – I think it’s so interesting to repurpose a space like that!
I’d vote for her…..bummed you can’t swim at PH Vendome but spa day is best package I’ve ever experienced. On the low side there is a cleaners that will do laundry and I just had a full bag done for 35 euro. Pressing Le Marois Pepiniere at 26 rue de la Pepiniere. It’s two metro stops from the Opera metro which is the best metro for PH and also eyesight to my Starbucks with chandeliers.
JustSaying – I’m getting some really great Paris tips from you!
I can see you are spending some serious computer time dreaming about your upcoming trip. ๐
Would love to hear about some of your plans in Asia.
Anne – Ha ha, I didn’t even realize I was playing favorites ๐
I’ll spend some time with Japan soon.
