The best idea for dinner in a new city.
Have you heard about EatWith? It’s such an interesting idea, and one that I’m so excited to try.
In select cities around the world, hosts create menus, set prices, and invite guests over to share the home-cooked meal together.
Hosts are selected through an intensive application process (only 4% of applicants are chosen!), and then set their own menus. I noticed that the offerings are definitely very regional – as they should be. Check out this one from New York:
And compare to these choices in Berkeley:
I am booking a night in San Francisco as we speak. I love a good dinner party, especially when I don’t have to do the dishes.
What do you think? Would you try this?
We’ve had 2 EatWith experiences and are hooked. Our first was in Jerusalem, where our co-guests were diplomats from the Netherlands. Just last week, we eat with a renown internet chef, who demonstrated how to put the dinner together as we ate.
heavenlyjane – Exactly! Just what I was hoping for! Excited to do it myself.
Just wrote about using Meal Sharing in my hometown. Such a great experience, I’m even thinking of hosting one in the future too. There are a number of sites offering the service so a lot of destinations are covered!
Matilda – The trend is sweeping the nation for sure!
Sounds like a great idea! Do guests add a tip?? Would this be expected?
Margaret – Really good question. I have no idea. I’m going to reach out to EatWith and ask.
