Flight of bacon, anyone? Cheeky’s Palm Springs is worth the wait.

Our Palm Springs adventure continues! Last night was definitely challenging (although it turns out that I didn’t get roofied after all), so this morning we decided to make everything better with bacon.

Destination: Cheeky’s in Palm Springs. This was a 30-minute drive from our hotel, but it was worth it. The main attraction here? Flights of bacon. I mean, does it get any better?

Cheeky’s is one of those places that is always packed. It’s only open Wednesday-Monday from 8 am – 2 pm. We were there on a Wednesday at 1 pm, and we had a 30-minute wait for a table.

As we waited, we sipped water (it was HOT) and browsed the menu. We agreed that we were all really glad we made the drive. As a family, we like trying new restaurants and different foods.

We were seated on the outdoor patio, which was balm for our fogged-out San Francisco souls. Water misters went off every few minutes, which was a nice touch.

Our food took awhile to arrive, and by the time it did, we were all super hungry. Be aware that eating at Cheeky’s is a lengthy process. But delicious. Here’s what we got:

The flight of bacon, of course…

the fried Chicken sandwich with napa slaw, homemade ranch, fried onions, and bacon…

…lacinato kale w/ berries, green apple, Drake`s chevre, and walnut, with poppyseed dressing…

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset…a Cheeky`s BLT w/ jalapeno bacon, avacado, and pesto fries…

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

and the sweet and salty matzo brie with berry preserves, sour cream, and shallots.

It was all delicious, but the standout was definitely the flight of bacon.

Has anyone else been here? What did you think?

  1. The food looks great, but probably not Kosher for Passover 🙂
Seriously though, I am glad you weren’t drugged last night and the reviews of the Hyatt bring back good memories, as I stayed in the one Bdrm unit that can be locked within the Casita and has a side entrance (but doesn’t give one access to the patio and bbq) this time last year while at a conference next door (at the Marriott). It is a lovely property and the pools/spa were really nice to hang out in during the little down time I had.

LauraPDX – Yes, the hotel has been great. We are having a great time – even with all of the little bumps in the road (I’m so glad I didn’t get drugged, too!)

You go from “getting roofed” to “flight of bacon”………..hmmmmmmmmm………..

Oh and I am dying to hear how you arrived in Palm springs with a family of four? In a car from the Bay Area or a cab/rental car from the Palm Springs airport?

Sounds great. I wish I had heard of the place last year while I was there. Glad all is ok.

Love the flight of bacon! We ate there in September and is certainly worth the wait. Check out the Parker next time you’re there; one of my favorite US hotels. Worth checking out even if you’re not a guest.

  6. OMG, I am so hungry now…
