Confession: my family goes on vacation without me…and I love it.

A few years ago, the Swiss theater troupe Moomenschanz came to Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. Josh’s mom was really excited about this, and wanted to take all of us to a matinee performance. Although Josh and I weren’t thrilled about the idea (we’re not that into surreal mime), we agreed.

Join me for shopping in Seattle?

So…I’m headed to the Frequent Traveler University next month in Seattle (Friday April 25 – Sunday April 27). I always have such a great time at these things. I’ve made some really good friends and have had tons of very interesting conversations at all of them (a lot of info is shared, both in the sessions, in the hallways outside of the sessions, and over cocktails).

Honey: a new promo code site. Should we buzz with excitement or just zzz?

A great idea: once you fill your online cart, Honey will search for coupon codes for you, and automatically apply any that work at checkout. I was excited to try it, because God knows I spend enough time searching for deals. I was looking forward to not having to seek, click, cut and paste endless coupon codes in order to find one that worked.

Nordstrom almost got me!!

Honestly it sounded very alluring. The main points of excitement for me were the Nordstrom Notes, the Personal Triple Points day, and the free alterations. Apparently when I signed up, I would get a $20 Nordstrom Note as a little bonus, then I would continue to earn them along the way. I imagined Nordstrom associates tossing handfuls of Nordstrom Notes at me as I gleefully racked up triple points on my personal day.
