Beware the Uber code.

I’ve noticed a trend with recent Uber bonuses. A new promo code will hit the scene, then within a few hours or days, the code is restricted to a certain area (Orange County, Chicago, etc.). In other words, Uber changes the terms of the code once they realize that the code is being used nationwide (when they probably meant it to be used in one market).

I can’t wait to buy Baby Foot in Japan. No, this is not an April Fool’s joke.

When I am in a foreign country, one of my very favorite things to do is spend some time browsing the aisles of pharmacies and supermarkets – you can find some incredible treasures on the shelves. Today I was amazed to read article after article about a creepy-but-cool Japanese beauty product called Baby Foot.

My worst retention bonus offer ever…until I hung up and called back.

I really drag my feet when it comes to making “retention bonus” calls. I actually always laugh when I am getting ready to do this chore, because I think about those license plate holders that read, “I would rather be…shopping at Nordstrom!” (Remember those? They were so nineties).

Confession: my family goes on vacation without me…and I love it.

A few years ago, the Swiss theater troupe Moomenschanz came to Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. Josh’s mom was really excited about this, and wanted to take all of us to a matinee performance. Although Josh and I weren’t thrilled about the idea (we’re not that into surreal mime), we agreed.

Join me for shopping in Seattle?

So…I’m headed to the Frequent Traveler University next month in Seattle (Friday April 25 – Sunday April 27). I always have such a great time at these things. I’ve made some really good friends and have had tons of very interesting conversations at all of them (a lot of info is shared, both in the sessions, in the hallways outside of the sessions, and over cocktails).
